Timor Telecom goes live on O3b satellite networkTuesday 9 September 2014 | 11:21 CET | News
O3b Networks and Timor Telecom (TT) have announced Timor Telecom has gone live on O3b's satellite network. This follows the 14 May announcement that the Portugal Telecom subsidiary had agreed a deal with O3b to bring high throughput, low latency capacity to Timor-Leste. Timor Telecom is now able to provide customers with a high-speed broadband service for the first time, improving user experience and allowing for more and better services and content. The use of O3b satellites, which are closer to the earth than conventional geostationary satellites, reduces latency, increases internet speed and improves voice and video quality for the user.
